The Institut Rural de Vayres is a private Agricultural College sponsored by the Ministry of Agriculture. It is supervised by a governing board. It provides specialising trainings in various fields such as Viticulture, Oenology and Marketing of Wines : 1st year of Technological and General training, BTA (Technician Diploma), Bac Professionnel (Vocational Diploma), BTSA (Undergraduate Diploma).
It also provides courses for would-be Quality Insurance Managers of the Wine Industry through in-service training. All the courses follow the Dual Vocational Pattern : 2 weeks of practice / 2 weeks of school time. This alternate system allows a real combination between the experience " on-the-field " and the knowledge acquired during school time.

 

The college is involved in different professional actions through a network of 1,600 supervisors of the wine industry, many of whom are former students of the Institut Rural. The whole teaching team is mainly concerned with the success of the students and their integration in the wine business.
